We begin the first day of 2027 with a powerful journey into remembrance, nature, and renewal. Today takes us from Assin Manso and The Last Bath into the rainforest at Kakum National Park, before continuing to Ghana’s Central Region for our overnight stay.
After breakfast, we’ll check out of our Accra accommodations, load our luggage, and travel by private transportation toward Assin Manso.
At the historic Ancestral Slave River Site, we’ll learn about the journey of captive Africans who passed through this area before being taken to Ghana’s coastal forts.

For those ready for an adventure, experience Kakum’s famous suspended canopy walkway high above the rainforest floor.
Travelers who prefer not to participate in the canopy walk may remain on the ground and enjoy the surrounding park and nature experience.
After Kakum, continue toward the Cape Coast/Elmina region, where we’ll spend the night along Ghana’s beautiful Atlantic coast.
